Beaches on the eastern side of the island are mostly organized, while bays on the western side are more secluded.
The top sights in Zakynthos are the impressive Blue Caves on the southwestern part of the island. The island is also home to many religious buildings, with the most imposing being the church of Agios Dionysios in Zakynthos Town.
